Northcote Heavy Horse Centre is a volunteer-run registered charity located at Great Steeping, near Spilsby, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, dedicated to the welfare, conservation, and education of horses and animals since it opened in July 1989. The centre cares for a diverse range of residents including Shire horses, llamas, pigs, goats, ferrets, and birds of prey, all rescued from difficult backgrounds. Visitors can enjoy hands-on activities such as horse grooming, educational talks, and exploration of the on-site museum, gift shop, and small cafe. Entrance is by donation only, making it an accessible and rewarding visit for all. Throughout the year the centre hosts special events including popular Medieval riding skills days, summer fetes, Halloween celebrations, and a Santa day, offering something for every season.
