The Northern Enclosure at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is a publicly accessible section of New Zealand's largest mainland ecosanctuary, located near Cambridge in the Waikato region. Surrounding a volcanic maunga with the world's longest pest-proof fence, the enclosure provides a safe haven for some of New Zealand's most endangered native species, including North Island Brown Kiwi, North Island Kaka, North Island Kokako, South Island Takahe, and Rifleman. The area is also one of the best mainland sites for spotting Stitchbird and North Island Saddleback.
