Parque Natural de Pucallpa

Parque Natural de Pucallpa is a 28-hectare zoo and natural park located on the southern edge of Pucallpa in the Ucayali Region of the Peruvian Amazon. The park is home to more than 400 species of Amazonian flora and fauna, with wildlife including monkeys, otorongo (jaguar), deer, capybaras, otters, toucans, parrots, herons, river turtles, and various lizard species, many of which are at risk of extinction. Within the park, the Regional Museum of Pucallpa preserves representative specimens of Amazonian fauna alongside an impressive collection of fossil remains found in the region's major rivers, including the jaw of a giant lizard estimated to be 10 million years old. The park also features a section dedicated to native trees and medicinal plants, a family recreation area, and the Aquamundo aquarium exhibit showcasing Amazonian fish. It provides an affordable and educational experience for families and visitors interested in the rich biodiversity of the Peruvian jungle.
