Parque Zoológico Chorros de Milla

Parque Zoológico Chorros de Milla is a scenic urban zoological garden situated at 1,850 meters above sea level at the northeastern edge of Mérida, Venezuela. Established in 1958 and spanning 10 hectares, the park displays around 160 species of animals including mammals, birds, and reptiles, with highlights including the magnificent Andean condor, tapirs, felines, monkeys, and the emblematic Andean bear, also known as the spectacled bear, which inhabits the surrounding highlands. A picturesque waterfall formed by the Milla River at the northern boundary of the park adds to the natural beauty of the site. Open Tuesday through Sunday, the park receives technical support from the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in the United States, which contributes expertise in staff training, educational programming, and wildlife management. Chorros de Milla is a cherished green space and conservation landmark in Venezuela's Andean region.
