Parque Zoológico El Pinar

Parque Zoológico El Pinar is the first zoological garden established in Caracas, inaugurated on August 13, 1945, during the presidency of Isaías Medina Angarita. Located in the El Paraíso parish on the grounds of the historic La Vaquera hacienda, the park covers seven hectares and is home to 208 animals from over 90 species, including macaws, toucans, capuchin monkeys, jaguars, pumas, llamas, and alpacas. Visitors are invited to interact with animals at the park's popular touch farm, where children can meet alpacas and ponies up close. The park also hosts guided tours, environmental education workshops, a library, and a recycling center. A dedicated Environmental Brigade of young volunteers serves as park guides and assists visitors. El Pinar is a treasured educational and recreational destination for families throughout the Venezuelan capital.
