Parque Zoológico Huachipa

Parque Zoológico Huachipa is a large privately owned zoo located in the Huachipa district on the outskirts of Lima, Peru, and is one of the two largest zoological parks in the country. The zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals representing over 200 species, ranging from international wildlife such as tigers, lions, giraffes, zebras, kangaroos, and dromedaries to indigenous Peruvian species including monkeys, vicuñas, llamas, condors, parrots, crocodiles, and sea lions. The expansive Amazonas zone recreates a slice of the Peruvian jungle, while the Sea World area features penguins, otters, and pelicans in three dedicated exhibition spaces. The park's botanical grounds contain over 600 species of native, exotic, and endangered plants, including a bonsai garden and a cactus garden. Visitors can enjoy a lagoon with boat rides, a train ride around the zoo, a playground, a restaurant, and picnic areas, making Huachipa a comprehensive family destination near Lima.
