Peshawar Zoo

Peshawar Zoo is a major modern zoological park located on Palosi Road adjacent to the University of Peshawar and the Pakistan Forest Institute, in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Opened on 12 February 2018 and managed by the Forests, Environment and Wildlife Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the zoo covers 29 acres and is considered one of the largest zoological facilities in Pakistan. Its rich collection includes Indian leopards, Bengal tigers, grey wolves, giraffes, markhors, black bears, grey gorals, blackbucks, and Himalayan griffon vultures, among many other species. The aviary is home to greater flamingos, great white pelicans, Asian houbara bustards, demoiselle cranes, and a variety of pheasants and raptors. With a strong educational mission focused on conservation awareness, biodiversity, and human-wildlife coexistence, Peshawar Zoo is open seven days a week and warmly welcomes families, school groups, and wildlife enthusiasts from across the region.
