Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve is an award-winning ethical elephant sanctuary set on 30 rai of lush jungle land near the tropical beaches of western Phuket in Thalang District. Founded in 2019, the reserve is home to five elephants - Lotus, Bow, Thonglor, Nong Tang, and Mae Boon Lai - all rescued from elephant riding camps and circus environments. The sanctuary upholds high welfare standards with no riding, no chains, no bull hooks, and no bathing forced on the animals. Visitors have the opportunity to observe and feed the elephants as they roam freely, play in mud pools, and splash in water in their natural jungle habitat. Recognized as Tour Operator of the Year at the TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards Thailand 2025, this reserve offers a genuine and compassionate wildlife experience in Phuket.
