Port Moresby Nature Park

Port Moresby Nature Park is the leading wildlife attraction and conservation organization in Papua New Guinea, spanning 30 acres in the heart of Port Moresby. The park is home to over 500 animals representing the extraordinary biodiversity of Papua New Guinea, including native species such as tree kangaroos, Birds of Paradise, and the Blue-eyed Cockatoo. Signature experiences include a WWII Walk-Through Aviary that intertwines natural and military history, a Tree Kangaroo Trail, and the award-winning Reptile Haus, which houses the largest public collection of native snakes, lizards, and turtles in the country. The park is internationally recognized for its world-first Pig-nosed Turtle head-start program, which dramatically improves hatchling survival rates, and for the rare achievement of breeding the Raggiana Bird of Paradise in captivity. It also leads urban reforestation and environmental education initiatives throughout Port Moresby.
