Qalqilya Zoo

Qalqilya Zoo is the only zoo in Palestine, located within the city of Qalqilya on the western edge of the West Bank. Established in 1986, the zoo covers approximately two hectares and is home to around 170 animals representing a broad range of species, including lions, brown bears, crocodiles, ostriches, camels, deer, gazelles, zebras, monkeys, birds, lizards, and snakes. A resident hippopotamus named Dubi is among the most beloved inhabitants. In addition to its live animal collection, the zoo features a Natural History Museum with a permanent exhibition of specimens, a children's entertainment park, and on-site dining facilities. The zoo serves as an important educational and recreational resource for local families and school groups, offering a rare opportunity to encounter wildlife in the heart of a Palestinian city.
