Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre

The Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre, located in Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, is an educational interpretive facility operated by NVISEA, a non-profit dedicated to salmonid conservation and community education. The centre features interactive exhibits and hands-on displays that allow visitors to learn about Pacific salmon species and the freshwater and ocean ecosystems they depend on. Partnering with the Marble River and Quatse River Hatcheries, the centre supports salmonid enhancement and conservation programs across northern Vancouver Island. Open seasonally from July through August, Wednesday to Sunday, the facility welcomes school groups and the general public, offering a meaningful connection to the vital role salmon play in both Indigenous culture and local ecosystems. Admission revenues directly fund ongoing salmon conservation initiatives in the region.
