The Reserve Bisons and Carpathian Fauna Dragoș Vodă is one of Romania's most significant wildlife reserves, dedicated to the conservation and study of the European bison and native Carpathian fauna. Located in Vânători-Neamț Commune, about 10 kilometers from Târgu Neamț in Neamț County, the reserve was established in 1968 and extends across approximately 11,500 hectares of forested land within the Vânători-Neamț Nature Park. The first bison were imported from Poland in 1970, and the reserve has since participated in a national repopulation programme for the Carpathian Mountains. In addition to bison, the reserve is home to Carpathian deer, fallow deer, mouflons, foxes, a bear, a wolf, and various bird species. A dedicated Bison Museum and a 200-meter suspended wooden walkway at 15 meters height allow visitors to safely observe the wildlife and surrounding forest ecosystem.
