The Schramm Education Center and Schramm Park State Recreation Area is a nature and aquarium facility operated by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, located at 21502 W Highway 31 in Gretna, Nebraska. The center houses the largest freshwater aquarium in Nebraska, featuring more than 60 species of freshwater fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates native to the state. Renovated in 2019, exhibits include a sturgeon touch tank, bird-watching areas, interactive touch screens, a maker space, reading nook, and a children's play area. The adjacent Gretna State Fish Hatchery — Nebraska's oldest — now operates as a fish hatchery museum. Free naturalist programs, monthly family events, and special educational programs run year-round. The center is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, making it a welcoming and informative destination for all ages interested in Nebraska's natural heritage.
