Stiftelsen Risør Akvarium is the only saltwater aquarium in southern Norway, located in the town centre of Risør at Strandgaten 13, overlooking the scenic Skagerak coast. The aquarium showcases more than 100 species drawn from the waters of the Skagerak strait, giving visitors an intimate look at the coastal marine life of this region. Interactive highlights include the opportunity to feed fish with shrimp, crabbing activities, and a popular digital drawing room where children can colour sea creatures and watch them come to life through digital animation. The aquarium is open weekends year-round and extends to daily opening hours during school holidays and the summer period from mid-June through mid-August. Its hands-on approach to marine education makes it a beloved and engaging destination for families along the Norwegian south coast.
