Summerfield Zoo

Summerfield Farm and Zoo is a small, intimate family zoo located at 3088 Flora Road in Belvidere, Illinois, near Rockford and convenient to I-90. The zoo is home to an engaging array of animals including sloths, capybaras, lemurs, lynx, mountain lions, and alligators, with private animal encounters available for select species offering guests memorable up-close experiences. Summer camp programs invite children ages 6 to 12 to experience life as a zookeeper for a week, providing immersive hands-on learning. The zoo also operates Christmas Town seasonally, featuring live reindeer and festive holiday entertainment. All funds collected go directly toward the feeding, care, and veterinary needs of the animals, reflecting a sincere commitment to animal welfare. Summerfield Farm and Zoo is open daily from 9 AM to 3 PM and welcomes educational field trips and group visits.
