The Ilfracombe Aquarium is an independent, award-winning family attraction housed within the historic Old Lifeboat House on Ilfracombe Pier, on North Devon's dramatic coastline. Showcasing up to 75 species of local aquatic life displayed in realistic habitats, the venue takes visitors on a unique journey following the course of water from an Exmoor stream through river, lake, estuary, and coastal zones all the way to the Lundy Island marine reserve. Highlights include rays, anemones, octopuses, and cuttlefish, alongside free quiz trails and feeding demonstrations. The aquarium is fully wheelchair-friendly, welcoming to families, and conveniently paired with a pier cafe offering harbour views and a gift shop — making it a delightful all-weather stop on the North Devon coast.
