The Orchideeën Hoeve

The Orchideeën Hoeve, now rebranded as Pantropica, is a spectacular tropical nature attraction located in Luttelgeest in the Noordoostpolder, Netherlands. Originally a flower nursery, the facility has grown into one of Europe's most remarkable indoor tropical experiences, centered on what is claimed to be the largest butterfly garden in Europe, home to over 2,000 free-flying butterflies. Visitors also encounter a lush orchid garden filled with pools, turtles, fish, and streams, as well as exotic animals including ring-tailed lemurs, red-bellied tamarins, and flamingos. A highlight is the Lori Bush, where approximately 80 free-flying lorikeets can be fed by hand. The attraction is open daily and typically requires several hours to fully explore, making it a memorable family destination.
