Trentham Monkey Forest, near Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, is a unique and captivating attraction set within a 60-acre woodland and home to more than 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques — the UK's largest primate habitat and the country's only Monkey Forest. Visitors walk a three-quarter-mile wooded path through the macaques' territory, observing natural behaviours such as foraging, playing, and social interaction up close. Knowledgeable guides are stationed along the route to answer questions, and hourly feeding talks bring additional insight into these endangered primates, which are native to the mountain forests of North Africa.
