Trevor Zoo at Millbrook School is a one-of-a-kind AZA-accredited zoological facility located on the campus of Millbrook School in Millbrook, New York, and recognized as the only zoo in the world situated at a high school. Established in 1936 by biology teacher Frank Trevor, the zoo spans six acres and houses more than 170 animals from 80 species, including nine that are endangered. Approximately 90 Millbrook students participate daily in animal care, exhibit maintenance, and zoo management under the guidance of six full-time faculty and consulting veterinarians, making it a unique living-laboratory for environmental science and animal behavior studies. Open to the public, the Trevor Zoo offers an inspiring glimpse into student-led conservation and wildlife stewardship in the scenic Hudson Valley of New York.
