Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Tasmania's leading wildlife sanctuaries, family-owned and passionately operated since 1979 in the Meander Valley, in the heart of Tasmania's stunning wilderness. The sanctuary is dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, conservation, and education of the island's unique native species, including Tasmanian devils, spotted-tailed quolls, wombats, kangaroos, wallabies, and a variety of bird species. Three free interactive guided tours are offered daily at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, providing memorable opportunities to meet wildlife up close and witness Tasmanian devil feeding demonstrations. As one of Australia's longest-running Tasmanian devil breeding facilities, Trowunna actively participates in five conservation breeding and rewilding programs. The Trowunna Experience offers a special half-day immersive keeper program for those seeking an even deeper connection with these remarkable animals.
