Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary is a historic conservation reserve located in Mylor, approximately 17 kilometres southeast of Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. Established in 1969 on land that was progressively fenced to exclude feral predators, the sanctuary has become a refuge for a remarkable range of Australian wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, bandicoots, potoroos, bettongs, and an extraordinary variety of birds. Warrawong is believed to be the only remaining location of platypus on mainland South Australia, making it a site of significant conservation importance. The sanctuary was revived under new ownership in 2017 and reopened to the public, inviting visitors to explore its feral-free environment and encounter native species that are rarely seen elsewhere in the region.
