Werribee Open Range Zoo is a vast safari-style wildlife destination in Melbourne's western region, operated by Zoos Victoria. The zoo's expansive savannah habitats are home to giraffes, white rhinos, cheetahs, hippos, and other iconic African and Asian species, all viewable aboard a free safari bus that traverses the open grounds. Visitors can upgrade to Deluxe Safari Adventures or book the Slumber Safari for an overnight stay among the animals. Educational keeper talks, interactive play spaces, and family-friendly facilities including cafes make it ideal for all ages. The zoo is currently also hosting an immersive animatronic dinosaur exhibition. As a Zoos Victoria facility, Werribee plays an active role in conservation, including participation in the Australasian breeding program for southern white rhinos.
