Wild Life Breeding Center Gatwala

Wild Life Breeding Center Gatwala is a dedicated conservation and wildlife park located in the town of Gatwala, approximately 17 kilometres from the city of Faisalabad in Punjab, Pakistan. Established between 1984 and 1989 and managed by the Punjab Wildlife Department, the centre spans 131 acres of reserved forest and serves as a vital hub for ex-situ conservation and captive breeding of indigenous fauna. The facility is home to hog deer, blackbuck, blue bull, mouflon sheep, peafowl, silver pheasants, ring-necked pheasants, and marsh crocodiles, all maintained in purpose-built enclosures designed to simulate natural conditions. Its core mission is to breed endangered species for potential reintroduction into the wild, conduct genetic tracking to prevent inbreeding, and raise public awareness about biodiversity conservation, making it an important educational and environmental resource for the region.
