Wildlife West Nature Park

Wildlife West Nature Park is a 122-acre nonprofit nature park and wildlife sanctuary located in Edgewood, New Mexico, in Santa Fe County. Founded in 1994, the park is home to more than 25 species of rescued, non-releasable native wildlife, including black bears, cougars, pronghorn, gray foxes, bobcats, hawks, and crested caracaras. All resident animals were once injured, orphaned, or illegally raised as pets and now serve as ambassadors for Southwestern wildlife. Operated by the New Mexico Wildlife Association, the park offers junior zookeeper day camps, seasonal festivals such as a Kite Festival and Wildlife Festival, and summer Saturday Cowboy Chuckwagon dinners with western swing music. Its habitats were largely built by youth participants, reflecting a deep commitment to hands-on environmental education. Open year-round, Wildlife West provides families and visitors with an authentic, conservation-focused experience celebrating the native fauna of the American Southwest.
