Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is a landmark conservation sanctuary located in Nakasongola District, approximately 164 kilometres north of Kampala, Uganda, and the only place in Uganda where Southern White Rhinos can be observed in a natural setting. Established in 2005 as a collaborative effort between the Uganda Wildlife Authority and a private land management company, the 70-square-kilometre ranch has grown its rhino population from six founding individuals to nearly 50 animals, representing a remarkable conservation success story. Visitors can participate in guided on-foot rhino tracking, as well as birding, shoebill trekking, nature walks, and boat rides. The ranch also offers comfortable accommodation, a restaurant, and camping facilities, making it an ideal overnight stop on the route to Uganda's northern national parks.
