Zoo Vida Salvaje Huanchaco

Zoo Vida Salvaje Huanchaco is a wildlife zoo and conservation facility situated near the coastal district of Huanchaco, on the outskirts of Trujillo in northern Peru. Billing itself as the first zoo of Trujillo, the facility is home to many animals rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking by ecological police, as well as animals donated from illegal captivity. Residents include emblematic Peruvian species such as the Andean condor and spectacled bear, alongside monkeys, llamas, and other native wildlife housed in naturalistic enclosures that mirror their natural habitats. The zoo participates in breeding programs and collaborates with national and international conservation organizations to protect Peru's biodiversity.
