Zoologico UNSAAC is a university-operated zoo and wildlife rescue center located on the campus of the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco, at Avenida de la Cultura 773 in Cusco, Peru. Open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, the zoo serves as a sanctuary for animals that have been harmed by human activity or are unable to survive in the wild, functioning as much as a rehabilitation facility as a traditional zoological park. The collection features a variety of native Peruvian wildlife and other species, with notable residents including the ornate tinamou and the mountain caracara, which has its own dedicated exhibit, alongside various birds, wild animals, and predatory species representative of the Andean region. The zoo provides an educational experience for students, families, and tourists visiting Cusco, offering insight into the diverse fauna of the Peruvian highlands and the importance of wildlife conservation.
