Montecasino Bird Gardens is a distinctive bird park and wildlife attraction located within the Montecasino entertainment complex in Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa, and is regarded as the only bird park of its kind on the African continent. The gardens are home to over 1,000 birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and small creatures across more than 100 species, with residents including scarlet ibises, nicobar pigeons, meerkats, sloths, ring-tailed and red-ruffed lemurs, marmosets, tamarins, blue and red duikers, and a walk-through aviary brimming with colourful wildlife. Daily bird demonstrations at 11am and 3pm showcase pelicans, vultures, cranes, and owls, and the gardens also hold the world's largest private collection of South African cycads. The Flamingo Café provides a relaxed dining option overlooking the flamingo pond, making the Bird Gardens a memorable family outing in the heart of Johannesburg.
